Previewing large images and audio or video files can slow down browsing folders that are located on shared computers and file servers on your network. To speed up browsing, you can choose not to preview files if they are located on connected servers.
Open the Application Wizard pane in System Preferences and click Menus.
Click the Customize Previews button.
Select the ”Do not preview files on connected servers” checkbox.
